Farm Bill Priorities Survey

Farmers and ranchers form the backbone of our economy and are crucial to Montana’s way of life. As Congress continues crafting this year’s Farm Bill, ensuring our state’s needs are included is my top priority. On June 16th, I held a roundtable to hear from stakeholders about their needs and lay out my priorities for this massive piece of legislation. I always appreciate the opportunity to hear more from our stakeholders on how to support Montana’s farmers and ranchers. My priorities in the upcoming Farm Bill will cut red tape for Montana’s rural communities and protect our way of life, including:

  • Securing a strong crop insurance program.
  • Stopping foreign entities like the Chinese Communist Party from purchasing U.S. farmland.
  • Fixing beef labeling to ensure only American beef is labeled "Product of the USA."
  • Include a Cottonwood fix for forest management.
  • Create a separate regulatory framework for industrial hemp.
I'd also like to hear from you! Please include your Farm Bill priories below to ensure I get a complete picture of Montana's needs.
