Rosendale Introduces Legislation That Will Require Political Candidates to Disclose Dual Citizenship Status

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale introduced the Dual Loyalty Disclosure Act. This legislation would amend the Federal Election Campaign Act to require the disclosure of dual citizenship when candidates file.

“The Dual Loyalty Disclosure Act will ensure that elected officials are fully committed to serving the best interests of their constituents and the United States,” said Rep. Rosendale. “This legislation simply requires political candidates to be transparent about any foreign citizenship they may hold. In an increasingly interconnected world, this disclosure allows American citizens to make informed decisions on election day and hold politicians accountable.”
