WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02), delivered remarks at the Joint House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs Hearing titled: “Legislative Presentation of the Veterans of Foreign Wars & Multiple VSOs: PVA, WWP, NASDVA, MRC, BSF, IAVA, BVA, SWAN, SVA, AMVETS.”
In this hearing, Congressman Rosendale discussed how the VA can adopt a more efficient and personalized model for veterans that would empower them to be in the driver's seat and make healthcare choices that best fit their needs. This can be done through the Veterans Access to Direct Primary Care Act, which Congressman Rosendale is a co-sponsor of.

“I am helping lead the charge on a bill that would establish a pilot program to allow veterans to receive a health savings account and use the money to obtain medical services through a direct primary care arrangement,” said Rep. Rosendale.
“The legislation would make it easier for veterans to see their doctor and spend money on preventive measures to improve their health before getting sick.”
Key Background:
Rep. Rosendale is a co-sponsor of Rep. Chip Roy’s (TX-21) legislation, The Veterans Access to Direct Primary Care Act.
The legislation would increase access and make Direct Primary Care arrangements and Health Savings Accounts easier to obtain for veterans. It would also improve the care in the community program at the VA by allowing Direct Primary Care arrangements and Health Savings Account dollars to be part of the care in the community program. This would allow another innovative treatment model for veterans and help to get VA bureaucracy out of the way.
