Rep. Rosendale Blasts NEPA Process for Delaying Economic Development

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02), in a House Committee on Natural Resources legislative hearing, cited issues with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) permitting process that have caused significant delays in vital economic development projects in the Treasure State. Specifically, he mentioned seemingly indefinite delays in the NEPA permitting process for the Spring Creek and Rosebud mines which employ hundreds of Montanans.

“In my home state of Montana, the overreach of the NEPA process impacts every sector—delaying vital infrastructure projects and hindering energy production, wildfire protection, and agriculture,” said Rep. Rosendale. “These bills represent an important step towards fixing the broken NEPA process and ensuring that our constituents can enjoy the benefits of a streamlined, efficient, and fair system.”
