Rosendale Votes Against Inflation Acceleration Act

Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Matt Rosendale voted against H.R. 5376, Inflation Reduction Act, which would, among other things, expand the size of government, increase taxes on hardworking Americans, spend billions of taxpayers’ dollars for the Left’s Green New Deal, and accelerate inflation. Representative Rosendale made the following statement:

“The Left continues to push its radical agenda on the American people by passing a spending package that will only accelerate inflation and cripple our nation’s budget. Not only will this legislation increase taxes on businesses and consumers, but it will also raise an army of 87,000 IRS agents to squeeze more taxes out of already hurting American families. With frivolous spending and an enlarged, aggressive IRS, the only climate that will be changing over the next year will be the economic climate, and it will get worse.

“To reduce inflation, Congress must freeze spending, a concept the Left does not understand. Reining in federal spending and reducing taxes to lower inflation will reaffirm confidence in those investing in our economy. I oppose this bloated tax and spending package, and I will continue to support commonsense legislation that will incentivize economic growth, benefiting all Americans.”
