Rosendale Votes Against Fiscal Irresponsibility Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) voted against H.R. 3746.

"The Fiscal Irresponsibility Act shows the D.C. Swamp on full display,” said Rep. Rosendale. “Last month, House Republicans worked together to pass the Limit, Save, Grow Act which reduces spending, grows the economy, and funds the federal government responsibly – while protecting Social Security, Medicare, and veterans’ benefits. Instead of allowing the Senate to amend the House passed Limit, Save, Grow Act, the Swamp reverted to business as usual and crafted a “deal” – behind closed doors – that compromises our nation’s financial future.

Not only does this piece of legislation add $4 trillion to our existing $31 trillion national debt, but it also continues to fund 98% of the 87,000 IRS agents, keeps Democrats’ student loan redistribution program in place, and funding for roughly $1.2 trillion in green new deal subsidies. This bill hands the Biden Administration a blank check to further their radical agenda until 2025. This “deal” is frankly an insult to the American people and the people across the state of Montana – which is why I voted against the Fiscal Irresponsibility Act."
