Rosendale Sends Letter Blasting VA Undersecretary of Health for Missoula Vet Center's Promotion of Pride Parade

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) sent a letter to VA Undersecretary for Health Dr. Shereef Elnahal demanding answers on the Department’s promotion of the Missoula PRIDE Parade.

“This is yet another example of the VA promoting woke identity politics that do nothing to help veterans,” said Rep. Rosendale. “It bewilders me that the Department finds it appropriate to allow for the promotion of events that have nothing to do with the mission of the VA while willfully neglecting the Department’s core function – providing healthcare to veterans. I believe the VA's resources would be better spent actually caring for our veterans. I know that our veterans in Montana feel the same way.”

The VA and Department of Defense continue to promote leftist ideology, including a Drag Queen story hour hosted at Malmstrom AFB. The Administration has prioritized radical activism over the healthcare needs of our veterans on several occasions. For months, the Montana VA has been turning away veterans who refuse to abide by the organization’s outdated COVID-19 mask rules. While the VA recently curtailed some of these rules, Montana veterans are still being denied care because of the left’s obsession with mask mandates.

Congressman Rosendale’s letter to the VA’s Under Secretary for Health demands answers on the Department’s involvement in the Missoula PRIDE event and how much taxpayer money was spent promoting it.
