Rep. Rosendale Votes Against America Last Foreign Aid Package
Washington,
April 23, 2024
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Matt Rosendale (MT-02) voted against four pieces of legislation that combined will send $100 billion of American taxpayer money overseas. H.R. 8038 The 21st Century Peace through Strength Act, H.R. 8036 The Indo-Pacific Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024, H.R. 8035 The Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024, and H.R. 8034 The Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024, will do nothing to secure our catastrophically open border, will be transmitted to the Senate as multi-subject legislation, and will open the door for portions of the aid to be used against our ally, Israel.
BACKGROUND: - A provision in H.R. 8034, The Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024, will send $9 billion to Gaza which is what caused Rep. Rosendale to oppose the legislation. While Rep. Rosendale approves of defending our ally Israel and approves of sending resources after the attack this past weekend from Iran, he does not believe the United States should be funding both sides of the conflict in the Middle East.
